 The followers of Christ at the Southwest Church of Christ feel called to make disciples of Jesus Christ who love God and love others through transforming relationships. We MAKE DISCIPLES (imitators) of Jesus because of what he commissioned in Matthew 28:19-20. We LOVE GOD AND LOVE OTHERS and invite all others to do the same because Jesus said in Matthew 22:37-40 that this is the ultimate aim of God for us in everything else He told us to do. We offer this life to others THROUGH RELATIONSHIPS because that is how we saw Jesus do it in the gospels and forthrightly stated in Mark 3:14. Jesus is who we follow and imitate. We believe that he came to give us the best possible life that a human being can experience, as he said in John 10:10 and we look to him to teach and model for us how to have it. |
